Keeping Kids Safe
To ease the mind of concerned parents and serve our users, the Global Librarian partnership has created a safe environment where children and young adults can find answers to their questions online. We achieve this by:
Keeping Identities Private
miniclip
Global Librarian only asks for your child’s or teen’s e-mail address so that we can respond to his or her question. We ask for their reading level to ensure that the information provided is appropriate to their needs. We ask which library they use so we can direct them to specific books available at their local branch. Information submitted through the Kids and Teens Ask Form is kept strictly confidential and will never be shared with any third party organization outside the partnership.
Using Qualified Library Staff
Only qualified library staff will answer your child’s or teen’s question.
Sticking to the Question
Communication between your child and library staff will be limited to responses to queries asked.
Keeping Parents Informed
When submitting a question online, parents can request to receive a copy of the librarian’s response.
