Global Librarian provides Partners’ communities with a professional reference service beyond the standard local libraryhours. Please see the Conditions of Use to find out whether you are entitled to use the Global Librarian Service.

Global Librarian currently guarantees a response within a few hours of receiving your electronic inquiry (public holidays excepted). To achieve this rapid turnaround, the Global Librarian Partners in one part of the world respond to inquiries during the closed hours of Partner Libraries in other parts of the world.

Global Librarian staff answering users’ inquiries either possess internationally recognized professional library qualifications or are supervised by someone holding such a qualification.

Global Librarian staff have all been trained in your local library's services and in the variations affecting service in each country. However, your inquiry may need further input from your locally-based staff. They will review the information provided to you by the Partnership and contact you by e-mail or phone (unless requested not to) if they can add to the response given by a Partner during local closed hours.
